An illustrated cover (front, back, and spine) for the classic popular-science book A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. I took part in the Penguin Student Design Award competition 2018 with this project.   

 

The simplistic and clean appearance of this cover aims to make this book more approachable, hoping to reach out to a younger audience, rather than only focussing on scientific experts. The idea was to combine typography with the concept of the black hole, with two dynamic colours being used to make it more appealing.
